Ballyhack Golf Club - Roanoke, VA
Since it’s development in 2009 by renowned course architect, Lester George, Ballyhack Golf Club has consistently found itself ranked in the top 100 golf courses.
Like Lester’s Kinloch Golf Club in nearby Manakin-Sabot, VA, Ballyhack Golf Club is a beefed up Scottish Highland-type design that sits at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and features rolling fairways, boldly contoured greens and natural elevation changes. Ballyhack Golf Club can be the ultimate challenge for even some of the best golfers, tipping out at 7,294 yards with a slope rating of 76.6/155.
In 2020, Ballyhack opened a par three course called the Goat Trak, which gives another way to experience the course for a second 18 or quick afternoon match. Additional Zeon Zoysia tee boxes are tucked away into the native areas out of view from the main course, showcasing views and game strategy not typically experienced on the course’s traditional routing.
Like its fellow Dormie Network courses, the staff at Ballyhack Golf Club offer world-class hospitality to compliment the extraordinary test and spectacular golfing experience.
For obvious reasons, Ballyhack has quickly risen the ranks of one of my favorite courses to visit.
