Victoria National Golf Club - Newburgh, IN
Consistently ranked among the top golf courses in America, Victoria National is a beast of a track tipping out at 7,242 yds with a slope rating of 75.30/143.
Built in 1997 by legendary course architect, Tom Fazio, Victoria National was constructed atop Peabody Coal Company's long-abandoned Victoria Strip Mine in Southern Indiana. The features of Victoria National are not something that are typically seen in Southern Indiana with 40 acres of finger lagoons that were former 50-70ft trenches from mine operations and mounds and berms throughout the layout as a result of mine tailings. The result is tumbling fairways and notable water hazards.
Victoria National is an extraordinary test and spectacular golfing experience, not to mention the world-class hospitality from the Victoria National staff. They truly take Southern Indiana hospitality to a new level. From the Bentgrass tees, fairways, and greens to its best-in-class dining experience, Victoria National has become a haven for a select group of discerning golf purists.
If you have an opportunity to play this track, don’t pass up. It is absolutely stunning.
